Q&A with Vintage Airstream Photobooth Owners - Rose & Dale Photo Co.

Operating out of beautiful Upstate New York, Rose & Dale Photo Co. is a mobile photobooth and lounge housed in a vintage 1963 Airstream Overlander. Given it’s age, when it was purchased it needed some serious love, so it has been completely renovated from the inside out. Roof solar panels, polished shiny exterior, beautiful weathered light oak floors, recessed dimmer lighting, and iconic interior aluminum skins - the Airstream is a classically beautiful space that is available for hire for weddings, private parties, festivals and any other event where a photobooth is needed.

You can find out more information about them at www.roseanddalephotoco.com  and here on Instagram and Facebook

Tell us about your Airstream:

Our Airstream is a 1963 Airstream Overlander that we found for sale in California right outside LA. When it was purchased, it had already been in the process of being renovated by a company called Area 63 Productions, so we kept it there and had them continue to fix it up. When it was ready, we took our first cross country trip to pick it up and tow it back! The first time we flew out to Area 63 for a design meeting, it was love at  first site!

Tell us about how you decided to start this company:

We have always been in awe of Airstreams. Their timeless style is fascinating, and have always dreamed of owning one. Photobooths, preferably the more old school styles, conjure up the same type of happy feeling. We had been toying with the idea of a photobooth storefront but being extremely attracted to a more nomadic way of life, it seemed to just make sense to start a mobile business instead of sometime more permanent in location. When the lightbulb moment of making the Airstream itself the photobooth happened, there was no turning back.

Favorite story of you + your Airstream:

So far, we would have to say that our favorite story has been that our crash course on towing an Airstream was  our ride back from California to New York when we picked it up. The idea of it all was really scary, but we got it done!

What’s the most important tip you can provide to someone that wants to own an Airstream? (Dreamer)

Follow that dream 100% but make sure you allow time and money for some bumps in the road (literally and figuratively)!

What’s the most important tip you can provide to someone that owns an Airstream? (Streamer)

We think having a safety routine before and after hitching up and taking off is EXTREMELY important. Lights, tires, windows, emergency brakes, etc. all need to be considered every drive!

What are the top three places you want to go that you haven’t been?

With the Airstream: Maine, Texas, Canada

Without the Airstream: Alaska, Morocco, India

Must haves for your Airstream?

Lots of storage bins and bungee cords!!!

What's your favorite Airstream Brands product?

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Handmade Clutch with Rivets!

What product(s) would you like to see Airstream Brands develop?

It would be really awesome to have an Airstream Guide for Dummies type product, for the newbie!  Oh and an Airstream emoji!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

My dad once said that your courage is always in your pocket, and when you are scared, you can just reach in your pocket and grab it. When I was a child I actually believed it, and now as an adult, the idea of the advice still makes sense. The courage we all need is always just inside, we just have to know its there.

What is your greatest regret?

No regrets! Really, I try to just live in the moment and accept the decisions that have been made.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Traveling to a new place, eating wonderful food and drinking wonderful drinks with great company. I don’t think it gets much better than that.
